Film processing
Do we process film? Yes, we do!
We process colour negative (C-41) film on-site in the shop using Fujifilm chemistry, and run the processor from Monday to Saturday. We pride ourselves on delivering a quick turnaround, with the majority of colour negative films processed within 72 hours.
If you have a black and white (excluding Ilford XP2 or Kodak BW400CN), slide/transparency (E6) or ECN-2 film, we are happy to take those in as well, but instead of processing them on-site, we send them out to a trusted lab. Our typical turnaround time for those types of films is about 3 weeks.

Just like we used to in the 90s, we develop your film and print your photos, and you pick them up when they are ready.
Your photos are printed on Fujifilm Crystal Archive Supreme paper, using our Fujifilm Frontier printer. Although we print digitally, we still consider these to be 'proper' photographs - they are a light and chemicals print on a silver halide colour paper.
You can choose between matte or glossy photo paper, the option of white borders, or smaller 5x3.5" prints, all at the same price.

We develop your film, and scan the negatives on our Fujifilm SP-3000. Then, we email you a link to download your scans.
No internet access? - Bring a USB stick, or ask us to supply one, for us to save your scans onto instead.

How will I receive the film scans?
1. We send you an email that looks like this:
The link under 'Download your film scans' opens a Dropbox folder in your browser, where you can download your scans. If you want to share the photos with anyone else, just forward them the email.
2. Click on the link in the email
You will find a folder for each film - the name of the folder corresponds to the twin-check label we stick to your film before processing.
Remember to download your photos, or add them to your own Dropbox account!
3. Download, or add to your Dropbox account
We delete the folders after a month, so please make sure to download your film scans. If you forget to download your scans before they are deleted, your film will need to be re-scanned.
4. Come back for your negatives!
We keep negatives for 2 months, on the presumption that if they are important, you will come and collect them within that time frame.
Need us to send your negatives home? No problem, we can work out the courier costs when you drop your film in for processing. Or, if your plans change and you can no longer come back to collect them, just get in touch and we will let you know the courier costs to send them out.
If you really like any of your photos, they can always be scanned at a higher quality in the future, but only if you have come back to collect them!

Film and slide scanning
Have some old film or slides to scan? No problem! Bring them in, we are happy to work out a no obligation quote for you if required.
We can email you a link to download the scans, sell you a USB stick to store them on, or save them onto your external hard drive or USB stick.

All film scanning is currently done on our Fujifilm SP3000, unless large format, which we scan on our Epson V850 Pro.
From early 2026, we will also be offering Nikon scans, for high quality scans of 35mm film and slides on our Coolscan 5000. We think the Fujifilm scans offer a bit more punch, but if you need maximum detail from your 35mm film, and a flatter scan for editing, this will be a good option.
