The all new SEL2470GM2 exemplifies the stand-out optical performance of Sony's G Master lenses. Adopting advancements in autofocus and operability the 24-70 GM Il is a substantial upgrade from the mark I in every way. A completely redesigned optical path features five aspherical elements, including two high-precision XA (extreme aspherical) elements, while also including two ED (extra-low dispersion) plus two Super with ED glass elements. Combined with a new floating focus mechanism, the 24-70 GM I effectively controls chromatic aberration, astigmatism, distortion and coma so that outstanding resolution is achieved throughout the image at all focal lengths and aperture settings.

Designed with both photographers and videographers in mind, the SEL2470GM2 offers exceptional, dramatic images for both stills and movies. Four of Sony's original XD (extreme dynamic) Linear Motors are utilised for autofocus, delivering AF tracking performance while zooming which is approximately 2x better than the previous model'. Supporting advances in Sony a camera bodies, the 24-70 GM Il can achieve up to 30 FPS continuous shooting, and Eye autofocus tracking for 4K120P video. Additionally, unwanted image movements such as focus breathing, focus shift and axial shift are exceptionally suppressed.
