DIGITAL
PHOTOGRAPHY
This course is best
for those who wish to gain both traditional and digital
photographic skills or for those whose career goals include
photojournalism, sport and photographic skills which keep
pace with technology. A computer background is not
necessary.

1year. (includes 5 weeks of holidays)

knowledge and experience appropriate to individual goals
or career pathways.

knowledge and experience to enhance their chances of
gaining professional success.

student and the industry.
Course
Entry Requirements:
- Photo Access has an equal

- We provide no barriers to
prospective EFTS students save that they must demonstrate
a genuine desire to study photography and are able to
assure us that they can maintain that desire and meet
course requirements.
- They must also be able to meet the
fee.
- Prospective students would also
have an awareness of a career path and how this course
would suit their needs.
- Previous computer and photographic
skills and learning would be taken into account and
verified at the interview.
- Students will be expected to
provide a 35mm slr camera.
Course
Structure:
The course is built around four
separate components.
- Digital photography.
- 40 credits must be gained
through completing digital photography learning
outcomes. The areas covered include computer
management, capturing, processing and outputting
photographic images. The main software used is Adobe
Photoshop 6 which is the recognised industry
standard.
- Photographic skills.
- 20 credits must be gained by
completing unit standards in photography.
- Assignments.
- 20 credits can be gained by
completing two of three major assignments.
- Portfolio.
- 20 credits can be gained by
completing a digital photographic portfolio. This
portfolio is marked by industry professionals.
In addition, tuition is also provided
in all main subject areas such as portrait, fashion, still
life, landscape, documentary and presentation as well as
contact with and tuition by industry professionals.
