ADVANCED
CERTIFICATE IN PROFFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY
For the purposes of this course, the
term 'professional' is defined as:
- Photographs that can be used to
earn income as opposed to photographs that are used for
personal or amateur purposes.
- Photographs that are taken with
commercial intent.
Course Length:
30hours x 36weeks x 1year. (includes 6
weeks of holidays)
Course Aim:
- To provide students with
photographic skills, knowledge and experience appropriate
to individual goals or career pathways.
- To provide students with
photographic skills, knowledge and experience to enhance
their chances of gaining professional success.
- To provide high quality
photographic education which meets the needs of both the
student and the industry.

Requirements:
- Photo Access has an equal

- We provide no barriers to
prospective EFTS students save that they must demonstrate
a genuine desire to study photography and are able to
assure us that they can maintain that desire, meet the
course prerequisites and meet course requirements.
Course
Prerequisites:
- Successful applicants will have
completed tertiary photographic training to the standard
of the Photo Access course 'professional photography one'
or 'certificate in digital photography', or be able to
demonstrate equivalent skills.
- Applicants will have to
provide:
- A curriculum vitae.
- Details of education and
employment history.
- A portfolio of photographs in
support of their application.
- A statement outlining the
applicant's intended career path, including long and
short term goals.
- Two referees.
- Short listed applicants are
required to attend an interview.
- Applicants must be able to meet
the fee.
- Students must provide their own
35mm slr camera equipment.
Course
Structure:
The course is built around four
seperate components.
- Advanced photographic skills. (40
credits)
- Comprising the following
learning outcomes:
- AP AL1 Take photographs
using advanced lighting techniques. (10
credits)
- AP DP1 Produce digitally
edited photographs. (10credits)
- Plus 20 credits from the
unit standards offered.
- Business and marketing skills. (10
credits)
- Complete major photographic
studies. (30 credits)
- Portfolio. (20 credits)
Students must gain 100 credits to
complete the course and be awarded the Photo Access
'Advanced Certificate in Professional Photography'.
